On February 28, 2010, in Hongfang, Shanghai, artist Forest Young invited an autistic patient to sit upright in the center of the square and showcase "performance art". The performer is dressed in tight black clothing, constantly entangled by thousands of black threads, until finally trapped in a huge sea of threads, forming a black "vortex of despair", fully showcasing the inner world of autistic patients tormented by loneliness and isolation.

The performer is dressed in tight black clothing, constantly entangled by thousands of black threads, until finally trapped in a huge sea of threads, forming a lonely "dark corner", fully showcasing the inner world of autistic patients tormented by loneliness and isolation.

The Distance between Mother and Child

On April 2, 2011, World Autism Day, at the Shanghai Library, artist Forest Young invited a mother and son with autism to participate in a "performance art". This mother and son are dressed in tight black clothes and placed at both ends of a 20 meter long super cage wrapped in black thread, vividly depicting the distant psychological distance between autistic children and their parents. Being in the same world, yet each at the opposite end of the world, never able to intersect.
