On January 10, 2026, artist Yexin Yang invited one man and one woman to take part in a performance in which shoes were placed on both their hands and feet, using four “feet” to paint. The three participants continuously crawled and rotated across a canvas-covered panel soaked in paint, moving in repetitive circles until reaching complete exhaustion, leaving behind distinctive traces. By adopting “crawling” – the most fundamental and instinctively correct posture in the animal world – the artist explores, on the canvas, how individuals perceive themselves within systems of institutions, power, and value.
