In March 2025, artist Yexin Yang encased himself within an enormous speechless mask in an act of extreme self-isolation, erecting silent monuments of the age across the city. In this work, he turns his critique toward the self-imposed confinement of the post-truth era—where masks no longer symbolize care for others but instead become armor to sever sensory connection. Here, silence devolves from a ritualistic act of solidarity into an instinctual fortress against the world.
